Elk Rapids Yoga Flow
Jan Boettcher : E-RYT 200, YACEP, Tier 1 200hr. Holden Qigong Teacher, RN Jan started practicing yoga later in her life to help with chronic back pain but found a deep spiritual benefit as several years of practice. Jan believes yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, physical limitations, or religious beliefs. Yoga philosophy and practice have helped deepen her own Christian faith and belief in interconnection between all people.Jan completed her 200 hr. RYT, (Registered Yoga Teacher), training in 2016 through Yen Yoga & Fitness in Traverse City, Michigan. Since certification and registering with Yoga Alliance, she continues to advance her knowledge by training in various yoga styles and practices. Among the various modalities, Jan completed Chair Yoga training from Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA, in the belief that yoga is for everyone regardless of physical limitations. Yin yoga certification was a natural transition from Chair Yoga training. Living in beautiful Northern Michigan and surrounded by water and our amazing great lakes, practicing yoga on the water felt natural to her. Jan is certified in Stand-Up Paddle Boarding, (SUP) and feels connected with the energy of the earth water. Jan opened Elk Rapids Yoga Flow in 2017, in Elk Rapids, Michigan in hopes of sharing the benefits and life changes practices she has discovered for herself in yoga. Jan's and the other teachers’ classes are designed to be accessible for all experience levels, while providing a safe and inviting environment in which to grow. Jan completed her 200 hr.Tier 1 Holden Qigong certification in January 2024, and is offering this energy guided practice in her studio. Qigong and Yoga flow beautifully together. She believes the energetic connection we all share with the world and each other is more important than ever to embrace. Jan is a Registered Nurse and practiced 30 years at Munson Medical Center, where she worked in the Rehabilitation Unit for 5 years and the Cardiology department for 25, leading and developing the Cardiovascular Research Department. As a Nurse, Jan enjoys teaching patients about the disease process and ways to cope both physically and spiritually, this made yoga and Qigong a natural transition in her wellness approach. Jan has embraced the benefits of yoga and Qigong through her studies and daily practice and hopes to assist others in achieving their health goals, physically and mentally, on and off the mat.
