PRANA - Meditation, Healing & Wellness
I came to the art of yoga looking for a way to marry my mind, body, and spirit into one complete being. A body at war with itself and an inflamed nervous system led to a slow destruction of self, and with it, selfhood. Practicing yoga was, and continues to be, a way for me to cultivate the self and selfhood I desire: free, authentic, beautiful, and resilient. After completing my 200 hour yoga teacher training, I observed myriad changes in my life. I alchemized my fears and pain into an energy that I used to reconstruct my life from a place of love and strength. As a teacher, I believe deeply in the power of the breath joined with asanas (yoga poses) to free someone from the ego, and connect them with their soul. I completed a B.S. in psychology from MSU, and I use this knowledge to ground my teaching philosophy. My teaching philosophy is trauma-informed, spirit-centered, and ultimately attuned to the needs of each student, whether that need is a push to discover one’s edges, or a gentle voice to pardon inner conflict. Outside of practicing and teaching yoga, I love to sing and compose music, write creatively, and spend time in nature. I hope to see you in one of my classes soon. Namaste.
