I was drawn to group fitness after taking my first TurboKick class back in 2007 and thought to myself "I can do that". That is where my journey with teaching Group Fitness started. Since that time, I have earned over 20 different certifications in various formats. In 2012, I decided to pursue kickboxing further and earned my black belt in MMA at American Mixed Martial Arts. It took time, dedication and persistence to never give up to earn that belt. Around that same time, I discovered PiYo (Pilates and Yoga blend) that helped me balance my high cardio/high impact workouts with stretch, strength and flexibility. I learned quickly how important it is to evaluate where you are at and where you want to get too. Around 2015, I started having various issues with my hips and plantar fasciitis. It was a struggle and painful at times to teach classes and I knew I had to figure something else out to keep up with my love for fitness and teaching. While talking to friends and family, it was a common thread of injuries/pain from continually participating in high-impact classes. Then it dawned on me to find a fun, motivating, heart pumping but low-impact option and that is when I discovered Rhythm Cycle! It is such a great workout, easy on my hips and joints, but yet I still get that amazing cardio workout! I think it's imperative to stay healthy by exercising, eating healthy and surrounding yourself with positive people. At LOCOFIT, you will be welcome no matter where you are coming from.
