About the Class

Somatics means “embodied” or “of the body”, and is a tool for integrating body and mind. Over time, or as a result of injury or trauma, our bodies develop habitual patterns that can lead to tension, pain, and imbalance. Somatics is a way to reeducate the muscles in order to change these patterns. Somatic Flow and Restore invites you to engage in a comprehensive yoga practice that integrates somatic techniques, and classic asana with restorative yoga. This class is designed to enhance your awareness of the mind-body connection, promote relaxation, and facilitate holistic well-being. What to Expect: Somatic Exercises: Specific movements designed to explore and release tension, improve coordination, enhance body awareness, and foster a deeper connection with your body's intrinsic wisdom. Classic Yoga Poses: Integrating somatic principles into familiar yoga postures, focusing on the experience of the movement rather than the end goal. Restorative postures and meditation/yoga Nidra: Concluding with restorative poses and guided relaxation to integrate the practice and promote a sense of well-being. Somatic Flow and Restore is accessible to all levels. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, this class offers a welcoming and supportive environment to explore and enhance your practice. This approach to yoga focuses on the felt experience of the body, encouraging practitioners to tune into their internal sensations and explore movement in a way that is gentle, intentional, and healing.
