Saturday June 6, 2026 2-4 pm $48 Have you ever wanted to explore backbends and inversions beyond what is taught in a 75 minute class? Bring your adventurous, playful side and join Moira for this fun, informative, invigorating practice! Backbends and inversion are known to increase energy, happiness, and motivation, while also helping to integrate grief. In this 2 hour workshop, intermediate students will be introduced to the techniques and alignment needed to begin mastering more challenging backbends and inverted yoga postures. Following meditation, and a vinyasa style warm-up for the whole body, as well as deep opening held poses for the front body, students will systematically work up to a series of back bends, followed by inversions such as headstand, shoulder stand, forearm balances, and handstands. Using a wall and hands-on teacher assists, students gain the confidence and proficiency to attempt these poses safely. Students are encouraged to release ego driven practice, while exploring their personal limitations and boundaries. You will be asked to listen to your body and to choose or pass on poses according to your highest intuition and wisdom about what your body needs in each moment. An established, consistent practice, and comfort executing basic to intermediate poses, as well as strength, stamina and understanding of breathing in postures and vinyasa sequence is recommended to attend this workshop. Class ends with plenty of time for deep relaxation/savasana. Sign up early. This workshop is limited to 10 students Yoga teachers receive continuing education credits. Moira is a YACEP provider. She is a Professional Level Kripalu Yoga Teacher, teaching yoga full time since 2001. She has been training yoga teachers since 2007.
