Circus Silks: Level 1

About the Class

NEW TO CIRCUS? This class is NOT for you. Please attend a Circus 101 or Silks 101 class first, or join one of our Silks 101 workshops. Instructor permission is required before taking Silks Level 1.  Silks Level 1 Meant for advanced beginners and up, silk aerialists will practice the building blocks of proper aerial technique and learn to execute wraps, drops, sequences, and flows. Newer silks students can come to work on inversions, cross-back straddle, catcher wraps, hip key sequences and s-wraps, while more advanced students can focus on layering tricks together mixed with difficult conditioning and lengthy air time. Weekly attendance is encouraged to promote progressive learning and to build on an entire sequence over time — however, drop-ins are also welcome. By the end of this level, you will have a solid grasp of the basics and be prepared to take your silks skills to new heights. Pre-Requisites: Execute foot locks in the air. Comfortable inverting from the ground. Ability to climb the silks to the top. Please note that meeting the prerequisites is essential for your safety and successful progression in this class. If you are unable to meet these requirements, you will not be allowed to take the class. contact us via email or speak with our 101 class instructors who will be happy to assess your readiness for this level. Our Aerial Circus classes introduce students to the dynamic and empowering art of aerial acrobatics in a fun and low-pressure environment. The small class size creates a supportive, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere for aerial students. Students are encouraged to attend weekly, allowing them to learn in a progressive manner. However, drop-ins are also welcome What to Wear: No shorts — stretchy pants that cover the back of knees. Shirts should be long enough to tuck in and cover the midriff. Wear fitted, not baggy clothes.
