About the Class

Bikram Yoga 90 is 90 minute calss done in a heated room (105 degrees fahrenheit and 40% huminity). This class consist of a series of 26 traditional hatha yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises . Pranayama breathing at the beginning and kapalabhati breathing at the end. Bikram Yoga is designed to scientifically warm and stretch muscles ligaments and tendons in the order in which they should be stretched.  Bikram Yoga's 26 +2 sequence systematically moves fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of your body, to each organ, fiber and cell restoring all systems to healthy working order just as Nature intended..  Proper weight, muscle tone, vibrant good health and a sense of well being will automatically follow. Most poses are done twice.  Your Progress How quickly you progress will depend entirely on you-upon your natural ability to a small extent but also on the time and effort you give to the yoga. It will have little to do with how perfect you can do the postures.  Few of us ever do the postures perfectly. Instead it will have to do with how well you understand what you are trying to accomplish in each post, how you try to accomplish your goal and how supple your muscles and joints have become in comparison to when you began. In Yoga there is no comparison except to yourself. To be “Perfect” in Yoga means to do the best that you can.

HOT ROOM ETIQUETTE: MAKE SURE YOU COME HYDRATED.  BRING YOGA MAT, TOWEL AND WATER. ALL AVAILABLE FOR RETAL/PURCHASE. IF YOU NEED RENTALS PLEASE  PAY FIRST AT THE FRONT DESK. THESE HAVE AN EXTRA CHARGE AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN ANY PACKAGES.  ARRIVE ON TIME, DOORS OPEN APPROXIMATELY 15 MINS BEFORE CLASS TIME. IF YOU NEED TO LEAVE EARLY, LET INSTRUCTOR KNOW. DO NOT MAKE THIS A HABBIT. FIND ANOTHER CLASS TIME THAT FITS YOUR SCHEDULE.  BOTH WARM UP AND COOL DOWN PART OF CLASS ARE IMPORTANT. PLAN ON STAYING FOR THE FULL LENGHT OF CLASS. BEGINNING TO END. REMEMBER THAT FINAL SAVASANA/RELAXATION IS WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS. RELAX AND BREATH FOR AT LEAST 2 MINUTES BEFORE YOU GET UP AND LEAVE.  LISTEN TO THE INSTRUCTOR/TEACHER. DO NOT DO YOUR OWN THING OR MAKE UP MOVEMENTS. IF YOU NEED TO MODIFY, ASK INSTRUCTOR BEFORE OR AFTER CLASS AND LET THEM KNOW OF ANY CONCERNS AND LIMITATIONS YOU MAY HAVE. WHEN WE ARE IN THE HOT ROOM, WE ARE MOVING & BREATHING TOGETHER, COLLECTIVELY. DOING YOUR OWN THING IS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL TO THE INSTRUCTOR/TEACHER AND THOSE AROUND YOU.  WHEN YOU LEAVE THE ROOM AFTER CLASS IS OVER. DO SO QUIETLY AND BE MINDFUL OF THOSE AROUND YOU.  THERE IS NO TALKING IN THE HOT ROOM BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER CLASS. THE HOT ROOM IS OUR QUIET SPACE. AGAIN BE MINDFUL OF THOSE AROUND YOU.  NOT ELECTRONICS - THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SCAPE AND DISCONNECT FROM REALITY. ALLOW THIS TIME TO BE YOURS. NO TEXTING , NO PHONE CALLS, NO POSTING/INSTAGRAM DURING CLASS. THIS IS YOUR TIME. LEAVE YOUR PHONE IN YOUR CAR OR BAG. IF YOU MUST BRING IT INTO THE ROOM MAKE SURE IS ON SILET AND DO NOT LOOK AT IT OR USE IT DURING CLASS!!!!  NO BAGS. LEAVE YOU BAG IN THE LOCKER ROOMS. JUST BRING YOUR MAT, TOWEL & WATER IN THE HOT ROOM.  AFTER CLASS, IF YOU NEED TO SPRAY/CLEAN YOUR MAT. DO SO OUTSIDE OF THE HOT ROOM IN OUR LOBBY. NOT INSIDE THE HOT ROOM. YOGA BOLSTERS ARE ONLY FOR NON-HEATED CLASSES . SUCH AS; SOUND BATHS MEDITATION / YIN, REIKI & SOUND. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR YOGA GEAR AT THE STUDIO. PLEASE TAKE ALL YOUR GEAR WITH YOU. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING LEFT BEHIND. AFTER CLASS IF YOU USE OUR LOCKER ROOMS: CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR SELF AND BE MINDFUL OF HOW MUCH PAPER TOWEL YOU USE.    LAST, BE HERE, BE PRESENT. IT IS JUST YOU, YOUR BODY, YOUR BREATH, IN THIS MOMENT, IN THIS ROOM. NO WHERE ELSE TO GO, NO WHERE ELSE TO BE. LEAVE EVERYTHING ELSE BEHIND.
