I don't have a long history with yoga or fitness. In fact, I was mostly sedentary as an adult until well into my 30s. Knowing the evidence for the physical and mental health benfits of exercise, I tried a variety of ways to get active -- running, climbing, even yoga! -- but nothing stuck with me until I started taking aerial classes at Flex in 2019. I had finally discovered something that I loved and looked forward to doing week after week.It wasn't long before I decided I really wanted to get better at aerial, so I started yoga and fitness classes as well, and I quickly found myself taking teacher training in yoga, aerial, and barre. Now, my routine also includes bodyweight-based strength training (calisthenics) and a regular handstand practice. I've also earned my personal trainer certification from the ACSM. It's fair to say I'm a fitness enthusiast!This is the power of finding movement you love -- and I'm glad to be part of Flex, where we provide so many ways to discover it!
