Denise Jones E-RYT500, ABYSMy yoga journey began in 2000. For many years I only thought of the asana practice as yoga. However, as life happens and difficulties arise, the need for peace of mind becomes more necessary. I discovered yoga to be so much more than just physical shapes I could make with my body. I was able to find focus, calming breath work, self-awareness, and gratitude.I completed my initial training with the Lundberg School of Yoga where I received my RYT200. In 2020 I continued with my formal training receiving my RYT500 and ABYS (Alignment Based Yoga Specialist), also through the Lundberg School of Yoga. I continue my yoga journey with my teachers who teach an alignment style of yoga. These teachers are physical therapists or body workers and share their amazing knowledge of the human body.Yoga is not about self-improvement, but about self-discovery and self-acceptance. I want students to feel this in every class. I teach poses with different variations so everyone can be successful and challenged. My goal is to provide an environment where students feel and explore each pose, and not feel pressure to "perform."
