About the Class

Yin yoga is a meditative deep stretch practice of long-held postures (mostly seated or laying down). It is appropriate for beginners and seasoned yogis alike.  Yin yoga can be practiced as a stand-alone practice or is a great compliment to the more Yang (vinyasa or flow) styles of yoga practice. Each posture is held for 1 - 5 minutes using props to help support and reach the deeper connective tissues.  This class assists the body in increasing flexibility and energizing the organ meridians. Most postures target the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and spine.
