Instructor
SOULIFT
Originally from Rochester, New York, Jeannine moved to Florence in 1997. She received her Bachelor’s in Communications/Journalism in 1987 from St. John Fisher College, her Master’s in Education in Secondary English in 1990 from SUNY Brockport, and she nearly completed a second Master’s in English from the University of Texas at Permian Basin before she came to her senses. Jeannine has practiced yoga for over 20 years, finding the joining of breath and movement a way to align body and mind in her safe space on the mat. She loves the continual growth opportunities that yoga provides on a journey to self- and body-awareness. She taught yoga for several years prior to joining her SOULIFT family and received her 200-hour yoga teaching training from the Baptiste Power Yoga in Nashville in 2021. She served as an Ambassador at SOULIFT prior to becoming a yoga instructor in January of 2022. You can find Jeannine taking both morning and evening classes now that she is retired from full-time teaching as a high school English instructor after 30 years. If she’s not hanging out at the studio, she’s teaching part time for Francis Marion University, reading British historical fiction, or picking up after her 3 dogs (Nicky and Sasha, Pomerians; Abby, Spreagle Spaniel) and 1 self-centered cat (Zoe).
