Christy received her 200 Hour RYT Certification from Midtown Yoga in 2011, and her teaching style combines vinyasa, restorative poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation. Her classes encourage you to create a personal practice that support your needs and lifestyle while also offering opportunities to challenge and nurture yourself. “I practice yoga to balance my roles of family member, friend, attorney, yoga teacher, foodie, animal lover, nature lover, and traveler, to suspend analyzing and problem-solving, and to be in the present moment. By reconnecting with my breath, I remember that I am more than the sum of my roles, and I am able to connect with something greater than myself. Through teaching, I strive to guide my students to reconnect with themselves, to experience joy and peace in their minds, bodies, and hearts, and to share that joy and peace off the mat.” From backpacking through Latin America, teaching English in China, embarking on roadfood trips throughout the United States, and meeting people from around the world, Christy has learned that we are more similar than we are different if we look past our external appearances and see each other’s true nature (purusha). Christy invites you to set aside any notions about what yoga should or should not be, bring an open mind and heart, and join her on the journey that awaits you – to experience your True Self!
