Yoga Instructor
Studio Yoga
Michele discovered yoga in 2005 after injuring herself, and her biggest challenge was accepting that she had to ‘rest’ or ‘go easy’. At that time, she was living in Trinidad and Tobago and had the fortune to become a student of Karen Stollmeyer who founded the ‘Bliss Yoga Studio Trinidad’ and is an honoree member of the International Yoga Council. She has attended numerous workshops and courses with Swami Brahmavidyananda Saraswati of India, who founded and directs the ‘Institute for Holistic Yoga - Satyananda Ashram’ in Miami Florida. ‘Swamiji’ as he is affectionately known, is the foremost direct disciple of Swami Satyananda Paramahamsa and she received her teacher’s certification from him.She enjoys teaching many styles of yoga, with the emphasis on combining awareness of the breath, of physical movement and thoughts arising through the practice. Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep) is perhaps one of her favorite classes to share with others. It consists of listening to a guided meditation, while lying down comfortably. It allows you to experience the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness and has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. Michele also trained and worked as a professional dancer so, of course, she enjoy all things ‘dance’ and incorporates some of those movements into her practice! Meeting people and sharing the gift of yoga is a source of great joy to her. She strives to offer a safe and peaceful space, where students can come into their own wisdom, finding joy, peace and power through their practice, as well as heightened self-awareness and balance both on and off the mat.“Know your breath as part of the bigger breath Your heart as part of the bigger heart”
