About the Class

This gentle class is perfect for all - and also a wonderful option for expecting moms! This class focuses on rejuvenation, healing, and relaxation.  As a happy benefit, you will yield a nice workout as well. Promoting physical and mental fitness through poses, breathing exercises, guided imagery, and often meditation. Suitable for most fitness levels and ages - GENTLE YOGA is a soothing practice held in our non-heated room.  This class is suitable for beginners and those who are looking for a slower paced, more expressive experience. This class will help you develop body awareness, learn basic asanas and their various modifications.  An emphasis on proper alignment will help you slowly and safely build strength. Within this class a full explanation of yogic breathing is offered, along with instruction on how to link your breath with movement.  Gentle and prenatal yoga uses the wisdom of yoga to ease and support expecting moms throughout all the stages of pregnancy.  Honoring where the body is at and the chemical and hormonal changes taking place during this special time, we will move through poses safely and slower than normal vinyasa flow class.  Many of the discomforts associated with pregnancy such as swelling, back pain and constipation among other things can be aided through a yoga practice.  Breathing exercises and meditative moments will also foster strength in preparation to endure the birthing process. This class is designed to create a sacred space of community and connection to others going through the journey and be able to tap inward into intuition and the honor the intelligence of the body.   All trimesters are welcomed.
