About the Class

Yin Yoga provides a slower, more meditative experience as different floor postures are explored for longer periods of time for a deeper stretch. Usually, a pose is “held” about 3 minutes, but the goal is to stay in position without having to hold the body in position.  This is a simple concept but is often more challenging than we might expect. Yin offers tremendous benefits to the fascial tissues within the body which respond to gentle persistent postures.  When we are able to relax the surrounding muscle groups, the body naturally melts deeper into the poses with a little help from gravity. Yin Yoga online is perfect for beginners and highly recommended for easing tightness or soreness within the body.  Yin is also excellent for releasing stress and calming the busy mind.  Although Yin is traditionally practiced first thing in the morning, it is also lovely in the evenings for transitioning ourselves into sleep mode, to enjoy a more restful and restorative night’s sleep. Yoga props are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED and will almost certainly enhance your Yin experience.  Gather your Pillows, bolsters, block, straps, and blankets!
