Yin Yoga is the practice of deep surrender. Expect to slow things down as you experience poses with long holds designed to work change into the most fundamental tissue in the body... your connective tissues. These tissues unique role in the human body are tied deeply to subconscious grasping. You will leave feeling an inch or two taller as we dive deeply into the body and it's energetic systems. The result is leaving the yoga room refreshed and energized. Join us in the soothing candlelight! Yin Yoga is distinct from Restorative Yoga (which we also teach) in that it focuses on the connective tissue and each pose is designed to confront these tissues (whereas Restorative Yoga is more focused on the Nervous System). This class is great for all levels and recommended any time you feel “too tired for yoga” (and of course you are not sick) or for those who are looking to improve flexibility. Both Alex & Valerie are advanced yoga teachers who both train teachers and head up Main Street Yoga Center's deepen & build program.
