I began my yoga journey at the age of 50, 7 years after overcoming breast cancer. Through the practice of yoga, I was able to reconnect to the same body that had betrayed me years ago. Using breath and movement, I found a dramatic impact in nurturing my body, mind and soul. Until then, I was full of panic, worry and often in a state of feeling anxious. While on a yoga retreat in the Sacred Valley of Peru, I wondered if I had what it takes to become a yoga teacher?. Upon my return I followed my heart and received my 200 Hr RYT, through 21st Century Yoga on the Mat in Madison, WI. I love yoga and its unique ability to meet me where I am and allow me to be present in my body. It is my intention when I teach to guide you to explore breath and movement in a way that can help any body thrive. I strive to teach with an upbeat, patient manner that anyone can follow. I hope to encourage students to embrace life both on and off the mat. When I’m not on my mat or traveling, I spend part of the year in Scottsdale, AZ with my husband. (Maybe you can guess what part of the year?) The remainder of the time we reside in Wisconsin, where I enjoy family, lifelong friendships & outdoor activity. The biggest delight of my life is spending time with my five grandchildren.
