Beginner's aerial yoga class was SO MUCH FUN!!! I'd love to be able to take more classes but there aren't any offered during my free time (11am-3PM). I would love if there were more classes in this time frame, as I work late nights often. Thanks for the opportunity and the immensely fun experience!
Visitors to Flow Motion will see Mika either in the studio
teaching yoga classes, facilitating sound baths and singing bowl
sessions, or working in the spa as a client concierge.
Mika's journey with yoga began over ten years ago when she signed
up for her first yoga class out of curiosity. For her, that “first
date” with yoga was “love at first asana!" Passionate about
holistic health, fitness, nutrition and natural healing
methodologies from a young age, Mika's encounter with yoga felt
like finding the missing piece of a jigsaw. Her dedicated practice
has continued even as she has traveled, lived, and worked in a
variety of places around the world, including Japan and
China.
An avid practitioner of a wide variety of yoga styles, Mika feels
particularly drawn to Vinyasa, Hatha, Power Flow, and Yin yoga. In
addition to her RYT-200 training, Mika is a certified Ayurveda
Specialist through the Yoga & Ayurveda Center. She has also
completed an Aerial Yoga Play training and is excited to be one of
the instructors for Flow Motion's new Aerial Yoga Program!
Mika aspires to positively impact others during interactions – both
on and off the mat – and to make the most of every opportunity to
infuse sparks of joy in their everyday experiences. Her classes are
all about mindfully linking breath (pranayama) to movement,
creative exploration, gratitude and creating a safe, healing space
for students.
In addition to yoga, Mika is also certified in Plant-Based
Nutrition through Cornell University and graduated from the
Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a qualified Health Coach.
She is passionate about helping others by giving them the tools to
improve their health through natural self-care, mindful living,
personal empowerment, and greater body awareness.
When she isn't practicing yoga, working or learning something new,
Mika enjoys spending time in nature, running, drinking tea,
reading, hanging out with loved ones, making delicious healthy food
(smoothie bowls are her favorite!), and learning
languages.
