This class is like no other exercise class I’ve taken. It’s challenging and fun. I am feeling it in muscles I never knew I had. Cathi is Amazing and keeps you motivated to really push yourself and embrace your inner strength. I love it!!
Cathleen Deutscher received an MFA in dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She trained in Pilates with the late Kathy Grant, an original protege’ of Joseph Pilates. This was the beginning of her fascination with movement as a true healing art. As a member of the Joyce Trisler Danscompany under the direction of Regina Larkin, she was immersed in the Lester Horton Technique, based on corrective exercises and a strong understanding of human anatomy. She later co-founded and directed the Ground Floor Dance Collaborative, while continuing to perform with several modern companies in NYC. Cathleen taught Movement for Actors at Adelphi University, Modern Dance for Eglevsky Ballet summer workshops at Hofstra University, The American Theater Dance Workshop, Peridance Center, and NYC public high school, W.C. Bryant. After being introduced to the Lotte Berk method by Jamie Greer, she attended Core Fusion(TM) at Exhale Spa, and was invited to teach by it’s co-creator, Fred Devito. As a member of Exhale’s team, she had the opportunity to also deepen her yoga practice with a stellar group of teachers, and was involved in workshops including prenatal and postnatal exercise, while she had her own two beautiful babies. She and her family moved back to Long Island in 2006. Three years later, she opened Fluid Power Fitness in Sayville, offering no impact barre-based classes which incorporate therapeutic exercises with a dance aesthetic.
A certified Reiki pracrtitioner for years, Cathleen recently became a practitioner of ITA (Integrated Therapeutic Alignment), through the Melaney Ryan Institute of Applied Consciousness, encouraging an even deeper understanding of the human energy systems to influence all of her work.
Cathleen is inspired to see her clients literally transform with regular classes. Her motivating approach allows for each individual to work at their own level for a thoroughly challenging workout that is efficient and fun, transforming mind, body and spirit.
