I work Full time as a Sales Associate for Coventry Log Homes and have for 8 years.
I started dancing when I was 4 in Houston and have always loved performance. I was the one in the musicals and singing in front of class. In high school, I was part of a dance/drill team, then when I got older, was a Professional Cheerleader for Pro Baseball Team in Arizona. I was also Mrs. Arizona for 3 years and sang and danced on stage.
As we get older, we start to change. I had become complacent, and tired and found myself sitting on the couch and eating way too much! I always thought if I could find a dance program, I would take it. I got some DVD’s for Zumba® and started to do it at home with my husband. When I saw a Zumba® class locally, I thought I would try it and met Judy Eddy, who inspired me and made me want to exercise! When Judy had to have a knee replacement, I was so sad, because the class had become my special family and I didn’t want it to end or break up. I decided to go and get licensed in Zumba®, so I found a class in Portland, ME and took the class. I didn’t think I would ever learn all the songs, and yet I did!I absolutely have LOVED the last year and a half of teaching Zumba® at RECFIT. It is my passion. I love the ladies that take the time to come and work out with me. I get as much back as I give, maybe more!I recently have been licensed in POUND® rockout workout. It is more toning and uses drumsticks as a tool to forget you are even working out.
I love both programs, and I truly hope you will give me a chance to show you how fun working out can be! If I can do it, you can do it! I won’t tell you my age, but you can always ask. I know that both Zumba® and Pound® are for anyone and everyone! You don’t have to know how to dance, or drum. I will help you!
The mission of the St. Johnsbury Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life for the citizens of the greater St. Johnsbury area through the management of a diverse array of high-quality recreational programs that foster character, community, and inquiry.
Our office is in RecFit St. J at 49 Perkins Street. St. Johnsbury Academy manages the recreation department under a contract with the municipality. This unique relationship began in the fall of 2010. An integral part of the department is the core of over 100 volunteers that pitch in each year and our community partners such as the St. Johnsbury School, Good Shepherd Catholic School, Union Baptist Church, Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, the Athenaeum, and Catamount Arts. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the Rotary Club for helping with camp scholarships, the Kiwanis Club for providing free access to swimming for the community, and NVRH for financial, advertising, and physical support to endeavors like RecFit, the Kingdom South trails project, and the annual bike safety fair. Without the time, talent, energy, and dedication of these individuals and institutions, we could not begin to offer what we do for the community each year.
