She has been teaching in AKKA since she was a green belt. Five years ago Marianne discovered that she liked teaching Karate so much, that she opened her own Karate School. Marianne has been recognized by the AKKA system of schools as a leader amongst the school owners. She was Awarded Black Belt of the year in 2010 for her excellence in martial training as an individual and as well as an owner/instructor. She has also competed in various tournaments and won numerous titles over the course of her training. Marianne has been interested in martial training since she was young woman and trained in the Tai Do Kune Ryu system where she earned a brown belt. Marianne is also the mother of four wonderful children and two amazing grandchildren and fully understands the challenges faced by parents today. Three of her children train and instruct at the Twin Peaks school. Her oldest daughter Emilie, is a co-owner in the school, making AKKA Twin Peaks a family operation.
