Eric

Eric Maust is the owner and head trainer of Rock City Fitness. He has worked in the fitness industry for over 18 years, beginning his career as an intern at a Chicago health club. Eric then spent 11 years working with large commercial health clubs in Chicago and Detroit.

In 2010, Eric took his comprehensive experience in the fitness industry and created Rock City Fitness. Eric has combined his extensive fitness training knowledge and signature training approach to create a company and brand that reflects his unique philosophy.

Eric's philosophy is highlighted by progressive phases of training and blending traditional and functional resistance training into a workout that builds a strong core and conditions the whole body.

In addition to his 18 years of experience, Eric is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also earned a BA in Physical Education from Albion College.

Eric enjoys pushing himself and his clients with challenging and creative workouts. As a former football player, Eric has remained wired as an athlete. However, he has switched gears quite a bit by venturing into the sport of running and obstacle course racing. Highlights of Eric's new running passion include completing the 2012, 2015 and 2016 Chicago Marathon and the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 Detroit Half Marathon. He also completed a Tough Mudder event in 2014 and the Spartan Trifecta (Sprint, Super and Beast) in 2016.

I motivate clients by encouraging then to do whatever it takes to get it done. 'Life' happens to everyone - we are all in the same boat. Excuses don't fly with me! My personal motto is to have a vision for the future you want and never, never give up.
