Adaptation is a method of adjusting traditional yoga postures to meet the specific needs of students. Adaptations are useful because they increase awareness of movement, develop new movement patterns, and help improve body functioning. During this 10-hour workshop, participants will learn the thinking process used to adapt poses within group classes or for individuals, including identifying common conditions/needs for given populations, creating a clear intention for practice, and cueing methods. This workshop will include lecture, group work, and practice. Bring your ideas of favorite poses to be adapted or specific conditions that would require adaptations. 10 Yoga Alliance CEUs will be available for participation in both days of training.
