Adaptation is a method of adjusting traditional yoga postures to meet the specific needs of individual student. Adaptations are useful because they increase awareness of movement, develop new movement patterns, and help improve body functioning. During this 10-hour training, be prepared to learn the thinking process used to adapt poses within group classes or for individuals including: identifying common conditions/needs for set population, creating clear intention for practice, and cueing methods. This workshop will include some lecture, group work, and practice. Bring your ideas of favorite poses to be adapted or specific conditions that would require special adaptations.
