Restorative Yoga is a blissful style that can benefit all yoga practitioners, creating balance in their asana practice. It uses props such as blankets, pillows and bolsters to support the body in restful poses that are held for longer periods of time. It is particularly beneficial to those who are coping with physical or emotional trauma.
This two hour exploration of Restorative Yoga will be a deeply calming session that will leave you feeling spiritually rejuvenated and physically loose and open. Participants will be soothed into their poses with live chanting by Surya Devi. The workshop will also explain some of the philosophy behind the restorative style.
Surya Devi teaches Restorative Yoga regularly at Kashi Atlanta Ashram in the style championed by Judith Lasater. Surya Devi is a certified Level II teacher of Judith Lasater's “Relax & Renew”© system, and is currently studying the restorative teachings of Dr. Gail Parker
