This workshop is both for the student and yoga practitioner curious about how Ayurveda can benefit them and for teachers or those who have received teacher training to gain a deeper understanding of this ancient science. The workshop is eligible for Yoga Alliance CE credits.
The workshop is in 2 modules. Module 1 covers the history and science of Ayurveda. Module 2 explains Ayurvedic and yogic psychology and its applications for improving the quality of life.
Traditionally Yoga and Ayurveda have been taught and practiced together as they are sister disciplines. Yoga is the science of self realization while Ayurveda is the science of self healing. The philosophical foundations and governing concepts of both are complementary
The paradigm of Ayurveda shows how the interactions among body, mind and spirit can be predicted, balanced and enhanced to enable us to live harmoniously with nature, improve health and promote longevity. In recent years the Ayurvedic theories of health and disease have begun to profoundly change how medicine , health care and wellness are taught and practiced in the West. Ayurvedic herbal therapies are becoming treatment modalities in Western medicine.
