Youth Yoga Teacher Training - 50 hours, Yoga Alliance Accredited

This is an opportunity for innovative and directed learning specifically targeted at improving the overall wellbeing of our youth, from Kindergarten to Year 12.  This is an evidence-based programme, focusing on developing the yoga, mindfulness and breathing practices that will have the biggest impact on the health of young people.

In this training, you will be primarily led by Beata Heymann, an expert in youth yoga, breathing and mindfulness programmes and the founder of Breath Circle (www.breathcircle.org). You’ll also receive youth-specific nutritional advice from leading Australian author, broadcaster, master muesli maker and yoga teacher, Flip Shelton (www.flipshelton.com.au).

This training will prepare you to teach yoga, mindfulness practices to youths based on their gender, gender identity, ethnicity, culture, spirituality and social/emotional needs. You’ll also learn to incorporate breath practices and sound therapy into your class plans.

This is groundbreaking training, and we are so excited to share this with the yoga teaching community and anyone who works regularly with young people. 

This training programme is delivered in two different pathways, depending on yoga teacher training studies that you may have already completed. In order to be accredited to teach yoga to youths you must also complete (or have completed), an accredited, foundation-level, yoga teacher training programme that enables you to teach adults. Therefore:

1. If you have already completed a minimum 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training course that is internationally accredited with Yoga Alliance, and you want to be able to teach youths, you need only to complete AYA’s Youth Yoga Teaching Certificate (50 hours).

OR

2. If you have not completed a minimum 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Programme, you will need to complete 50 hour Youth Yoga Teaching Certificate + 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Choose a 200 hour teacher training option to suit you.

These programmes are accredited by Yoga Alliance (Worldwide) and will enable you to register as a recognised Children’s Yoga Teacher.

Lectures: October 29th (zoom only) & November 5th, 18th, 19th & December 2nd & 3rd (10am – 6pm each day).
