A personal and deeply meaningful
experience, the yoga mala is a tradition consisting of 108 sun
salutations practiced to welcome each new season of life. Join
Lindsey Alexander on New Year's Day to set heartfelt intentions for
the months ahead and to make space for growth and change. In this
moving meditation, we’ll incorporate svadhyaya
(self-reflection), ishvara pranidhana (surrender), and
tapas (dedicated effort) as we flow from one surya
namaskar to the next, all the way to 108.
Our practice will be divided into 4 sets of 27 sun salutations.
Each round will have a unique
Round 1: Personal growth and transformation
Round 2: Well-being for family and friends
Round 3: Well-being for the global community
Round 4: Dedication to a higher being or a concept (love, peace, compassion)
The mala is open to all practitioners, with time for rest and recuperation along the way. In addition to the asana, look forward to relaxing assists, meditation, and a sweet restorative savasana.
