Suffering from back pain? SI joint dysfunction, disc degeneration, bulging discs, scoliosis, sciatica or piriformis syndrome? Or just want to give your back some extra love and attention? This gentle and therapeutic class is designed to improve spinal health and to help you create safe practices.
The first half of class is typically spent on the mat performing stretches and alignment based movement. Then, the last half of class is spent on the yoga wall where the focus is on decompression and lengthening.
The yoga wall and props will be utilized to offer support and to encourage proper alignment. Using principles of realignment, decompression, strength, and stabilization this class helps ease back pain, reverse compression due to age and normal wear and tear, and to correct bad habits.
This class is wonderful for people suffering from back pain or injuries, as well as for surfers, athletes, and those who work in the service industry or behind a desk for long hours. No experience necessary. This class is open to everyone. Come learn how to maintain a healthy and supportive spine.
