French Beginner 1. The FIRST segment of the comprehensive Beginner level five-course series designed for French beginners.

An all-adults class.

Materials are not included in tuition.

Beginner 1 level description: This course is ideal for individuals who have never studied French before or those who wish to start from scratch. Throughout this level, you will acquire fundamental language skills and knowledge.

Here's an overview of the topics covered in Beginner 1:

COMMUNICATION: Ask and say your name, recognize some written words, recognize singular and plural, introduce yourself: your age, your family, your profession.

GRAMMAR: Personal pronouns, s’appeler in the present tense, the pronoun moi, the definite article, the indefinite article, gender, number, être/avoir in the present tense.

VOCABULARY: Greetings, family, professions.

Next level: French Beginner 2.

Intermediate 1 level description:

French Intermediate 1 is an ideal course for those who have completed French High Beginner 5 or possess a similar level of proficiency.

Here's an overview of the topics covered in Intermediate 1:

COMMUNICATION: Explain how we get organized at work, presenting one’s profession or what we would like to do, textisms and our opinion about them, French textisms, write a newspaper’s column about language learning, create a comic strip, send a tweet to a program, present a program, give your opinion about the work of a journalist, write an article.

GRAMMAR: The comparatives, the relative pronouns, the organization of ideas, the expression of cause, future, indicators of future, conditional present, expressions of obligation.


VOCABULARY: Organization, stress, apprenticeship, pleasure, work, studies, sociology, economy, the languages, the explanations, money, school, television, journalism.

High Beginner 1 level description: French High Beginner 1 is an ideal course for those who have completed Spanish Beginner 5 or possess a similar level of proficiency.

Here's an overview of the topics covered in High Beginner 1:

COMMUNICATION: Say what sport you practice, talk about the future, give advice, express purpose, explain a decision, express frequency, describe your house, understand an apartment listing, give directions, justify a choice, compare apartments, describe a situation in the past.

GRAMMAR: Future tense, the hypothesis in the future, the imperative of pronominal verbs, the negative imperative, the verbs devoir, boire and falloir in the present, the cause, the goal, the present, depuis, the relative pronouns qui and que,

VOCABULARY: Nutrition, sports, health, personal commitment, the internet, the cardinal points, real estate, furniture, equipment, approval.

An all-adults class.

Materials are not included in tuition.

Beginner 2 level description: This is the perfect course for individuals who have either completed our French Beginner 1 course or have some minimal experience with the French language. We'll help you build upon your existing knowledge and skills to further develop your French proficiency.

Here's an overview of the topics covered in Beginner 2:

COMMUNICATION: Introduce yourself: give a date, languages spoken, place of birth, where you live, ask for phone numbers. Order in a restaurant, ask questions, describe a city, tell the weather.

GRAMMAR: Prepositions (en, au, aux) + name of a country, verbs ending in -er in present, the possessive adjective in singular, appeler/s’appeler, prendre in the present tense, the indefinite and definite articles, est-ce que/qu’est-ce-que, the plural of nouns, faire in the present tense, the pronoun on.

VOCABULARY: Nationalities, numbers, at the restaurant, activities, the city, the weather.
