“Deities become alive when they are invoked and worshipped. If you want to know them, you need to treat them…as living beings, energies that are palpable, powerful and real…They are actual beings who exist in eternal forms in the subtlest forms of consciousness.” - Sally Kempton, Awakening Shakti, The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga
Join Lakshmi Kanter and Sheila Diggs in person or online for stories, kirtan, movement, and meditation to celebrate the Goddess Shakti on the first day of Navaratri 2023. Navaratri – literally “Nine Nights” in Sanskrit – is a festival that celebrates the Goddess.
Lakshmi and Sheila are long-time students of meditation teacher Sally Kempton, who shared her deep knowledge of and experience with the divine feminine. Our Navaratri gathering will both be a time to revel in the wisdom of the Goddesses as well as to honor Sally’s recent passing in July 2023.
On this first day/evening of Navaratri, we will chant the names of Durga, Lakshmi, and Saraswati. We will also explore them through story, movement, and meditation, activating their archetypes and calling upon their support in the world.

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and organs. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move, but when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement and breath, and even cause pain.
In this online workshop, we will use tools, simple techniques, and yoga poses to release layers of fascia in the feet and legs. This practice will help create renewed slide and glide in the tissues of your hips, knees, and feet, and make space for more easeful movement.
Everyone is welcome.
