
This is an introductory level course for absolute beginner dancers. The complex journey of jazz dance will be explored through a syllabus that traces the evolution of this nuanced style. By the end of the session, students will have learnt various vernacular & modern jazz dance fundamentals, expanded their musicianship, and developed physical & mental agility. This registered course is ideal for adults who have no previous experience with jazz dance but have always wanted to try, as well as for students who’ve taken jazz class in the past and want to reconnect with their love of dance.

This class will focus on developing strength, flexibility, and fluidity while teaching you essential movements and transitions that define contemporary floor work. Through a combination of guided exercises and creative exploration, you’ll discover how to incorporate floor work into your dance practice.
