Are you ready to get a little bit tippy? Tippy Lyra flips your typical Lyra on its head and then right back again! In this workshop, we will cover some fundamental mechanics of Tippy Lyra and learn how to navigate the chaos of this wobbly hoop. We’ll work on safe mounts (and dismounts), poses, and some spanset play!
Pre-requisites:
Ability to do clean pullover
At least one pull up
Ten second short arm hold
Pike mount
Ability to hold a pike under bar, pencil under bar, and splits under bar
Got the basic mechanics down? Time to add more rocks, tips, and flips! We will work on shifting weight distributions around the hoop to create some dynamic and dramatic movements. This workshop builds on the principles from the Intro to Tippy Lyra workshop.
Perquisite:
*must first take a prior tippy Lyra workshop, private lesson, or have approval from instructor! We will be building on the principles from the first workshop so it will be assumed you can already utilize a couple of mounting methods, understand basic safety, and can navigate around*
Additional pre-reqs:
-comfortable in an inverted man in the moon
-single knee hang (or very close to one) - both sides
-at least one pull up
-ten second sort arm hold
-pike mount
-pull over (no tagging)
