Introduction to the Chakra System

This short introduction to Chakra Psychology will inform the student of one of the most important pieces of yoga practice, the Chakra System. The Western therory of the Chakra's lies in 7 individual centers in the body. Chakra therory and each individual chakra will be touched upon. This program will be a mixture of lecture and a short meditation with relaxation to close. Students are encouraged to take notes or bring a journal with them. We reccomend taken this introduction with our full Chakra Psychology program to follow on Sunday.

Jennifer is the founder of Inner Wisdom Wellness & Yoga Therapy which is a healing modality built on chakra psychology. She has been studying and teaching chakra psychology for over 15 years.

Chakra Psychology is a fascinating way of organzing certain life behvorial patterns, issues, stregths and body awareness fundamentals. Jennifer has been using chakra psychology for herself and in her teaching and wellness practices for 15 years to empower, heal and offer support to her students. This program will offer conversation, meditation and professional presentation of each chakra in the traditional western system. There will be a relaxation and meditation at the close of our program, students may sit on the floor, a chair or lie on the floor.

The Art of Listening: The Power of Active Listening & Holding Space

Active listening involves attentively seeking to understand a speaker's message, rather than passively hearing the words that a speaker says. A part of leading a more mindful way of living, we learn to silence, open and absorb more of the present moment, with deep compassion and support to our surroundings and the people around us. Active listening can help to build trust within a conversation, thereby allowing the speaker to communicate more easily, openly and honestly, by learning the deep essence of holding space.

The Art of Assisting: Enhancing your Teaching Career through verbal and hands on assists

Embodiment in our asana practice is an important part of a safe and effective physical yoga practice. Teaching embodiment with powerful verbal cues and knowing when it is appropritate to admister and assist with our hands is a delicate balance that comes with experience and trust with our students.

This program is enough to give you a burst of confidence on the etiquette of hands on assists as well as the knowledge to understand the when, who, what, where and why of assisting with your hands and enhancing your verbal cues when teaching asana.

A CE certificate is given upon completion. This course will be offered in the fall with different asanas if you wish to continue to explore additional assists and stregthen your verbal cueing.

Restful Mountain Chair Yoga Teacher Training

The hugest cohort to pass through American society is turning 65 at a rate of 10,000 per day! They are the baby boom generation, and most know that remaining active is critical to wellbeing. Chair yoga offers an opportunity for older adults who have physical limitations to remain physically active and also creates the all-important sangha (community) to maintain a sense of belonging.

For yoga instructors, chair yoga is a growth opportunity! Many senior centers and facilities are in need of teachers, as are community centers and churches. Even businesses interested in lunchtime yoga may be best suited to a 45-minute chair yoga class.

Whatever the situation, Restful Mountain Chair Yoga Teacher Training prepares yoga instructors to teach this growing style of yoga.
