This class is taught by an experienced, certified childbirth and parent educator. This class helps prepare first-time expectant parents to care for their newborn with guidance for keeping baby healthy, including information on sleeping, crying, comforting, bathing, diapering, and new parent support systems available.

One registration includes both the birthing parent and their partner or support person.

Preparing for Birth: Childbirth Education 4 Week Series (In Person)
Feb 12, 2026 - Mar 5, 2026

This series is taught by an experienced, certified childbirth educator and consists of four weekly two-hour classes to prepare the expectant woman and her support person for the labor and birth experience. Includes: discussion of labor and birth, birth options, Lamaze techniques and other comfort measures, and childbirth videos. Plan to finish class within a month of your due date.

Classes are held in-person at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell.

One registration includes both the birthing parent and their partner or support person and light refreshments will be provided.

Understanding Breastfeeding - In Person
Feb 16, 2026 - Feb 16, 2026

This class is taught by a board certified lactation consultant from Capital Health's Lactation Center. Class should be taken before the birth of the baby. This class includes getting ready for breastfeeding, getting started, milk production, avoiding early problems, and support systems available. Partners are also encouraged to participate.

One registration includes both the birthing parent and their partner or support person and light refreshments will be provided.
