Ballet Level 2 Series
Take your ballet skills to the
next level with our Ballet
Level 2 Series — three 6-week courses designed for dancers
who have completed the Intro to Ballet Series or who have some foundational
ballet experience. Each course builds on the fundamentals of
posture, alignment, foot and arm positions, and barre and centre
work taught in the Intro to Ballet series, while introducing more
advanced technical challenges. Dancers will refine
musicality, coordination,
balance, agility, and control, gaining confidence and
artistry in more dynamic and expressive sequences. Like the Intro
Series, each course can be taken individually, allowing you to
focus on the areas that excite you most while continuing to develop
a well-rounded ballet technique.
Intro to Ballet Level 2: Movement Sequences and Progressions
Theme: Linking steps into flowing combinations, memorizing longer sequences and introducing repertoire (real Ballet choreography from famous Ballets)
Focus: Longer sequences, directional changes, transitions, posture, alignment, foot and arm positions, and barre/centre work
Goal: Strengthen coordination, memory, and confidence in performing connected combinations. This course helps dancers move smoothly through sequences, improving control, timing, and the ability to execute combinations with precision.
Who this course is for:
Ideal for adults who have completed the Intro to Ballet Series (all
3 courses) or have foundational ballet experience. Perfect for
dancers looking to deepen their connection between movement and
music, explore expressive phrasing, and build confidence in
performing longer sequences.
Intro to Ballet Series for Adults
Our Intro to Ballet Series offers three distinct 6-week courses designed to build a strong foundation in ballet technique. Each course explores the fundamentals — including basic foot and arm positions, posture, alignment, terminology, and coordination — through work at the barre and in the centre.
While each course has its own unique theme, together they provide a well-rounded introduction to ballet pedagogy. Dancers may take the courses in any order; they are not sequential.
Intro to Ballet: Turns & Balance
Theme: Stability, control, spins (pirouettes), demi pointe and balances, and centre confidence
Focus: Beginner turns, spotting, balance, posture, alignment, basic foot positions, pliés, tendus, and barre/centre work
Goal: Strengthen balance, coordination, and body awareness, helping dancers feel steady and confident in both static poses and flowing sequences. Basic spinning principles, like spotting, leg and arm placement, momentum will be explored. This course emphasizes control and precision while continuing to reinforce foundational technique.
Who this course is for:
Perfect for adults who are new to ballet or returning after time
away. This course is ideal for anyone who wants to improve posture,
coordination, and fluidity of movement while experiencing the grace
and artistry of classical ballet in a welcoming, beginner-friendly
environment.
Experience the soulful energy and free-flowing style of House dance in this 6-week beginner course. Designed for adults with little to no dance experience, this class introduces the core foundations of House: rhythmic footwork, grounded grooves, jacking, loose-leg variations, and expressive upper-body movement, all guided by the heartbeat of house music.
House isn’t just steps—it’s a culture built on freedom, self-expression, and community. Alongside foundational technique, you’ll learn how to feel the music, improvise within the groove, and respond authentically through movement. Classes include drills, grooves, freestyle exercises, and choreography sequences that bring everything together in a fun, uplifting environment.
You’ll also be introduced to the cultural roots of House, born from Chicago and New York club culture, celebrating unity, individuality, and shared expression on the dance floor. As your confidence grows, you’ll be ready to join our community practice sessions and feel part of the vibe.
Wear comfortable clothing and clean sneakers. Come ready to move, sweat, and express your individuality—your House journey starts here.
Step into the foundations of Hip Hop culture and movement through groove, rhythm, and foundational street dance techniques. This course focuses on the core building blocks of Hip Hop freestyle and choreography, exploring bounce, rock, jack, step variations, isolations, and bass-driven weight shifts.
Students learn how to dance inside the beat—not just follow it—by training musical responsiveness, rhythmic patterning, and Hip Hop textures such as sharp vs. smooth, heavy vs. light, and pocket vs. attack. Across the floor and centre combinations include foundational movement styles inspired by Old School Hip Hop, House influence, Party Dances, and Funk styles (locking grooves, downrock foundations, and basic footwork variations may be introduced at a beginner level).
Each class ends with phrase work where students apply technique to choreography, building toward a short piece over the 6 weeks. Dancers gain confidence in performance, timing, and groove while developing their own personal “flavour.”
Goal:
To introduce rhythm-based Hip Hop foundations and groove technique
that can be applied to choreography or freestyle, while building
musical awareness and confidence through a final choreography.
Who this is good for:
Beginners (ages 18+) who are new to Hip Hop or want to learn how to
groove, dance confidently to music, and understand hip hop
foundations instead of just learning trendy moves. Perfect for
anyone who wants to dance with more style, bounce, power, and
musicality.
Discover movement that feels free, expressive, and connected in
our Intro to Contemporary Dance Series. This series offers three
standalone 6-week courses, each introducing students to essential
elements of contemporary technique, artistry, and strength:
* Intro to Contemporary: Floorwork & Flow
* Intro to Contemporary: Technique & Musicality
* Intro to Contemporary: Improv & Expression
Each course approaches learning from a different perspective—whether it’s technical clarity, smooth transitions, or creative expression—giving beginner dancers (ages 18+) a complete introduction to contemporary dance.
These classes are perfect for adults who are new to dance, eager to explore contemporary as a style, or looking to build a foundation before joining weekly open classes. No experience needed. Your contemporary journey starts here.
*Take all three in any order to earn a Contemporary Foundations Certificate
*Completing the full series prepares you for Beginner Contemporary Weekly Open Classes
Intro to Contemporary: Floorwork & Flow
Floorwork is a fundamental aspect of Contemporary dance, and we
are making it easy and safe! Learn how to move into and out of the
floor with ease, confidence, and safety. This course introduces
beginner-friendly floorwork inspired by contemporary and
post-modern ideas of weight release, spirals, folding/unfolding,
and momentum-driven pathways. Dancers explore how the body uses
gravity as support rather than resistance, building strength
through softness and control through breath.
Each class works through low-level conditioning, floor pattern
drills, sliding and rolling techniques, and transitions that
connect standing and grounded phrases. Core stability, spinal
articulation, and fluid sequencing are emphasized to help dancers
feel supported and free as they move through space.
We’ll apply our skills to choreography that travels between high
and low levels, helping dancers experience how grounded movement
flows naturally into expressive performance.
Goal: To build comfort and control in floorwork, develop fluid transitions between levels, and experience how grounded technique leads to expressive contemporary choreography.
Who this is good for: Beginners (ages 18+) who want to feel more fluid in movement, reduce stiffness, or overcome fear of floorwork. Ideal for dancers who love earthy, grounded styles, or anyone wanting smooth transitions and more body awareness.
