This course is ideal for individuals who have completed Spanish High Beginner 2 level or similar. Here's an overview of the topics covered in High Beginner 3:
 
 

COMMUNICATION: Talk about hobbies, talk about schedules, tell past events, describe places, talk about intentions and projects, talk about likes and eating habits, explain how to prepare a meal.

GRAMMAR: Preterite perfect, Ya/todavía no, Ir a + infinitive, Querer/pensar + infinitive, Personal pronouns of direct object, impersonal forms with se, some uses of ser and estar; y, pero, además.

VOCABULARY: Leisure activities and venues, food, recipes, weights and measurement.

Next level: Spanish High Beginner 4 or greater.

Intermediate 4 level description:

Spanish Intermediate 4 is an ideal course for those who have completed Spanish Intermediate 3 or possess a similar level of proficiency.

Here's an overview of the topics covered in Intermediate 4:

COMMUNICATION: Getting by on the phone taking a leaving messages, ordering and transmitting orders and requests, resources to tell anecdotes, reources to show interest when listening to a story, talk about causes and consequences, express interests and feelings, talk about relationships between people, show disagreement , soften an expression of disagreement, counterargument.

GRAMMAR: Indirect speech: me ha dicho que.../ me ha pedido que.../ me ha preguntado si.../ me ha preguntado cuándo/dónde/por qué..., some connectors to talk about causes and consequences: como, poque, así que, de modo que, etc., the preterite pluperfect indicative, combine the tenses of the past in a story (present perfect, past perfect, preteterite, imperfect), me fascina/me encanta/odio/no aguanto...que + subjunctive, me fascina/n /me encanta/n /odio/ no aguanto... + subjuctive/infinitive.

VOCABULARY: Verbs that summarize the intention of a message (preguntar, recomendar, etc), types of messages (letter, mobile message, email, etc.), travel, types of turism, verbs to express interests, feelings and sensations, manias, resources to show disagreement, adjectives to describe people's character.

Next level: Spanish Intermediate 5.

SPANISH BEGINNER 2. The SECOND segment of the comprehensive Beginner level five-course series designed for Spanish beginners.

An all-adults class.

Beginner 2 level description:

This is the perfect course for individuals who have either completed our Spanish Beginner 1 course or have some minimal experience with the Spanish language. We'll help you build upon your existing knowledge and skills to further develop your Spanish proficiency.

Here's an overview of the topics covered in Beginner 2:

COMMUNICATION: Expressing intentions, explaining the motivations for what you do, talking about what you do in different languages, describing places, expressing existence and location, talking about climate and the weather.

GRAMMAR: Gender, definite articles (el, la, los, las) and indefinite articles (un, una, unos, unas), the presente de indicativo, regular verbs ending in -ar, -er, -ir, uses of por, para and porque, uses of hay, the verb estar, the superlative, quantifiers: muy, mucho/mucha/muchos/muchas, qué, cuál, cuáles, cuántos/cuántas, dónde, cómo.

VOCABULARY: Languages, activities in language class, leisure activities, climate and the weather, geography, information about countries, cardinal points, seasons.

PHONETICS: Connectors, accentuation.

Next level: Spanish Beginner 3.

GRAMMAR: The past perfect subjunctive, termporary constructions with mientras, hasta (que), en cuanto, antes de (que), después de (que), resources to cohere texts: dicho / -a/-os/-as, el citado/-a/-os/-as, tal.

VOCABULARY: Enviromental vocabulary, resources to cohere texts: use of synonyms, hypernyms, hyponyms, pronouns, nominalization.

COMMUNICATION: Saying hello and goodbye, in the classroom, numbers from 1 to 10, the alphabet, resources to develop your learning abilities in Spanish class, ask for and give personal information, saying hello and goodbye.

GRAMMAR: Gender in nationalities and professions, the verbs ser, tener and llamarse, personal pronouns.

VOCABULARY: Numbers, nationalities, professions.

PHONETICS: Intonation of partial questions and answers.
