Join Herbalist & Plant Medicine Maker, Shannon Mulligan-Mayernik, owner of Mayernik Kitchen, for an engaging talk on spring wellness and the medicinal “weeds” growing right in our backyards. As the seasons shift, many common wild plants emerge that can gently support our bodies, offering everything from seasonal allergy relief to nourishing tonics that help us transition from season to season.
Shannon will share how to safely identify and work with familiar backyard plants, along with simple, practical ways to incorporate herbs into everyday life during the spring season. Participants will learn about the traditional uses of wild plants, how to recognize their benefits, and approachable ways to begin building a deeper relationship with the natural world around them. Shannon will also bring fresh medicinal plants for attendees to see, touch, smell, and even taste. Engaging our senses is one of the most powerful ways to truly connect with and understand plant medicine.
Enjoy a warm herbal infusion during the presentation and explore a selection of herbal preparations, including Mayernik Kitchen’s best-selling Elderberry Syrup. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and discover how spring’s wild abundance can support vibrant seasonal wellness.
In the second half of our time together, meditation and sound practitioner Kat Roman will guide participants into a deeply restorative Sound Journey. Surrounded by the vibrations of her instruments, you will be invited to integrate the wisdom of the plants through rest and resonance. As Shannon awakens the senses, Kat will offer space for the body to absorb, soften and harmonize.
Together, this experience weaves earth-based herbal wisdom with the subtle medicine of sound, inviting you into alignment with the rhythm of the season.
