The program launches with an Intro to Ayurveda workshop, meeting and meditation where you receive all your materials. Sue guides participants through the process as they follow the diet, herb regimens at home with a custom checklist. It includes Ayurvedic Kitchari, Ayurvedic herbs, and oils along with meditation and yoga classes. Participants have access to a private facebook page for information, sharing and ongoing Q&A for the entire 4-day period.

A 20 hour beginning, foundational training to become a teacher
(incudes instruction, practice, teaching practicum, in-studio practice, outdoor experiences, graduation evaluation, take-home manual, ongoing support)
This training will equip you with the knowledge and skills to be able to teach and share the powerful healing practice of meditation with others in a one-on-one or group setting. Although meditation is not an intellectual practice, it is important to have a thorough understanding of the techniques, potential student experiences and the anticipated effects of sustained practice.
In the training you will experience a variety of meditation techniques with a strong focus on Vedic Tradition and Sanskrit mantra meditation along with exposure to a range of techniques and teachings from Buddhist psychology. We believe that a qualified meditation teacher must have a familiarity and deep respect for the ancient roots and history of the contemplative traditions.
You will learn to:
-deepen and solidify your personal meditation practice
-recognize various meditation techniques and traditions
-lead a group or one-on one seated meditation session
-communicate about the dynamics of meditation
-learn breathing practices to support meditation practice
-articulate the health benefits of meditation
-use Sanskrit and English mantras
-help put students at ease
-field questions and guide students
-cultivate personal presence and ease to support your teaching
-understand contraindications and how to work with special situations
All contact hours are with Soulspace Founder, Sue Bonanno who has trained with Deepak Chopra, holds certifications in Meditation & Ayurveda from the Chopra Center in California and is a Yoga Alliance experienced 500 hour registered yoga teacher. Sue is also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.
*prerequisite is a personal daily meditation practice leading up to the training sessions and continued throughout and beyond

We’ll start the evening with teaching how using mala beads and mantras to help calm the mind, and create more peaceful and joyful living.
We will each create our own beautiful mala bracelet.
Malas are used to help one focus and keep count while reciting mantras in meditation. Focusing on setting intentions and connecting breath. You can create your own mantra and meditation practice! The sanskrit word mantra literally means to liberate one’s mind.
We will practice using mantras as a way to bring harmony to the mind, body and spirit.
Each person will get to choose their beads and learn how to create your own beautiful, individualized bracelet using your intention. Setting intentions help to create meaning and purpose in everything we do, so that we can bring our best self to the present moment. This bracelet will serve as your reminder to bring purposeful living to all that you do.
