A special way to celebrate your Valentine in the times of Covid-19. Just you and your special someone in snuggly warm Yin poses. Equal parts cuddle and practice, this event is a perfect date, at home. You will need a couple of Yoga mats, some blankets and a pillow or two. Poses will be simple and delicious, perfect for novices and for experienced Yogis alike!
Partner Yin has become a popular Valentines Day tradition at SMY. Married couple Mandy and Matt co-teach this unique and remarkable class experience. Pairs will discover common Yin poses in a whole new way using their partner for weight, leverage, support, etc. Your Yin practice will never be the same once you've discovered how these techniques can enhance and illuminate familiar poses. This workshop will also include some reciprocal Thai Massage between partners. Because of the laid back and passive nature of this practice no prior experience with yoga is required and mixed level couples can enjoy the class equally. If you have done this practice in studio, please know that the poses will be VASTLY simplified to make it easy to transition and possible to enjoy your partner instead of craning your neck to see what is coming up!

Pain Care Yoga for Chronic Low Back Pain is a 8 week program. Evidence shows that programs of this kind can significantly reduce CLBP.

Neck pain is one of the most common types of pain. It is a condition that causes a great deal of suffering and even disability. If you have suffered from neck pain for awhile you know that there is very little relief availiable. Chiropractic care, massage, stretching all help a little, but not much and not for long. Even over the counter pain relievers do little to give you relief.
Pain Care Yoga for Persistent Neck Pain is an evidence based 6 week series designed to give you options, a sense of control and relief, finally. This is a comprehensive process that will challenge you and excite you. You will learn some amazing things about your body, your nervous system and your brain. You will learn to appreciate the complexity of your issues and be given tools to heal.
This program incorporates Yoga, Somatic techniques from the Feldenkrais Method®, Mindfulness instruction, breathing techniques, pain education and peer support. Technology plays a big role as well since your homework will be delivered via True Coach an app you can use on your preferred device. Ongoing support will be availiable through a special online portal. You will have full access to all materials from class to maintain your progress.
The total investment for the program is $130. This includes:
- Six 90 minute small group practices
- 6 week home practice program
