The Turkish get-up (TGU) is a comprehensive full-body exercise that will strengthen all the major muscle groups, increase mobility all throughout the body, and will improve conditioning or heart health. The TGU takes you from supine to standing with a weight in an overhead position – It is essentially loaded yoga and is highly accessible to yogis because the movements of the get-up will be familiar from yoga practice, and because the foundation for a good get-up is body awareness and breath. Come to this workshop to learn how to apply your yoga practice to a full-body strength training exercise that hits all the bases!
Join Melody for an evening of soothing sound and breath work, the 3rd Sunday of each month, 7:15-8:45pm.
As we find stillness, we will soften and release into sound using a variety of instruments including crystal and metal singing bowls. The vibration will permeate our bodies and spirits as it dissolves any lingering tension and allows us to soften more deeply into our selves and into the moment.
The sound bath will be split up into 20 minute increments with time for silence and integration in between.
Bring pillows, props, blankets and anything else you'd like to feel cozy!
$22 / person
Join Ashleigh for a 90-minute Yin Yoga practice in conjunction with the upcoming season of Summer. As the sun shines brighter, and the days continue to lengthen, nature freely expresses herself through growth, vibrancy, and expansion - themes we may be similarly experiencing within our own lives and inner landscapes.
This traditional Yin practice will be woven with wisdom from the Chinese Meridian Theory & corresponding five-element theory, focused on stimulating both the Heart & Small Intestine Meridians (energy lines running through the chest, heart, and arms) during this firey time of year. We'll practice postures and discuss themes that will help create inner balance during this upcoming season.
In this heart-space focused yin practice we will explore themes of self expression, leaning into our external relationships, generosity, and reciprocity. Summer time is full of heightened energy, extroversion, and sensuality, so in this practice we’ll take the time to prepare our bodies and hearts for the connections and continued expansion that Summer evokes. My hope is that practitioners can call upon the themes explored & poses practiced during the session all season long - using them as tools to find balance on & off their mats throughout the season of Summer.
This practice will be calming in nature, utilizing classic Yin Yoga postures throughout, and open to all levels. The studio will be candlelit and the sequence set to peaceful music. Yoga bolsters, blocks, and blankets provided, but feel free to bring your own props or extra props as wanted.
