Pop-Up Yoga with True Love Yoga at the Museum of Kansas City

 

Join us at the Museum of Kansas City at 3218 Gladstone Blvd. Kansas City MO 64123 for FREE Pop UP Yoga on the Lawn!

Enter through the museum entrance on Gladstone Blvd and walk to the rigth side of the museum on the lawn under the shade trees for class!

 

Reconnect with yourself and your community amidst the tranquil beauty of the great outdoors! Join us for an invigorating series of outdoor yoga sessions on the lush East Lawn of the Kansas City Museum. Breathe in the fresh air, feel the warm sun on your skin, and let the serene atmosphere enhance your yoga practice.

 

Dates: Saturdays, May 10th, June 14th, July 12th, August 16th, and September 13th

Time: 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Admission: Donation Based Event (FREE for TLY Members)

 

Since 2016, True Love Yoga has been a beacon of inclusivity, offering yoga sessions that welcome everyone. Now, we invite you to experience the joy of yoga in the embrace of nature. Our passionate True Love Yoga instructors will guide you through an empowering, all-levels flow, fostering a sense of grounding and connection to both self and community.

 

As an act of love for our shared heritage, 50% of the proceeds from each session will be graciously donated to the museum's renovation efforts, allowing us to preserve and honor the history that surrounds us.

 

Remember to bring your yoga mat and water bottle, and prepare to immerse yourself in a rejuvenating experience like no other. Restrooms are conveniently located inside the museum.

Grab a friend, partner, or loved one and join us for a playful and heart-opening 75-minute class designed to deepen connection through movement. We’ll begin with a 15-minute solo warm-up to ground into your own body and breath before moving into creative and supportive partner poses that explore trust, balance, and communication.

Expect to laugh, learn, and move in new ways as you build strength and connection. No partner yoga experience required—just come ready to move mindfully and have fun. We’ll close with a relaxing guided savasana to rest and restore together.

Join us this summer for a reading challenge that honors your body, heart, and mind. Each month, we’ll feature a new book that we’ll read as a community and celebrate with a special Book Club Class. These sessions will include mindful movement and meditation inspired by the themes of the book, followed by a thoughtful group discussion.

Join us for a powerful and heart-centered journey into the Fire Element through the practice of Qi Gong. The Fire Element governs joy, connection, communication, and self-love—and summer is its season. This 2-hour workshop will guide you in exploring the emotional, physical, and energetic qualities of Fire to help you feel more connected to yourself and your community.

We’ll begin with a heart-mind meditation and reflective journaling prompts, then move through gentle stretches to activate the meridian lines. You’ll learn specific Qi Gong forms to awaken and strengthen the energy of the Heart and Small Intestine, followed by a short lecture offering insight into how to balance and nourish the Fire Element in daily life.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable layered clothing (temperature shifts are common)

  • A light snack beforehand and something for after

  • Journal and pen for notes and reflections

This workshop is open to all levels—no prior Qi Gong experience needed. Come nurture your inner fire and leave feeling more radiant, grounded, and inspired.

Yoga Teacher's Renewal Practice: Exploring the Lateral Lines

Reconnect with your body and breath in this special 2-hour practice designed just for yoga teachers. This month’s Teacher Renewal session will explore the Lateral Lines of the myofascial system—fascial pathways that run along the outer body from the foot to the skull, supporting balance, stability, and easeful side-body movement. Through an intentional blend of myofascial release, breathwork, vinyasa flow, and restorative integration, you’ll develop a deeper somatic understanding of the lateral lines and how they affect posture, gait, and energy flow. As always, this space invites you to be a student again, refill your own cup, and connect with fellow teachers in a supportive, curious environment.

Students can expect:
• Guided myofascial release techniques to hydrate and unwind the lateral lines (outer hips, IT band, ribs, side neck)
• A nourishing flow sequence focused on lateral expansion, core support, and balance • Restorative shapes and breath practices to integrate the work
• Insight and inspiration you can carry into your personal practice and teaching

$15 for RYTs
