Pelvic floor muscles are responsible for supporting the
abdominal organs, control of
continence, sexual function, childbirth, as well as contributing to
core stability. Pelvic floor
dysfunction can commonly be caused by childbirth, but also by hip
or back dysfunction. Overtight pelvic floor muscles can cause pain
and dysfunction as well.
