Do you feel uncertain about your teaching style? Are you ready to move beyond simply instructing to create an environment where your students are eager to engage with you—not just your class? Welcome to HSPD intensive, a transformative, evidence-based workshop designed for those who are ready to evolve from a skilled instructor to a master teacher.
Imagine stepping into your pole studio and being welcomed by a room full of diverse, excited faces—each student bringing their own unique story and energy to the space. As you take it all in, your empathy awakens and you reconnect with the passion that first inspired you to share your craft. You feel the pulse of the room, and in that moment, you intuitively select an icebreaker that speaks to the unique needs of this group. You glance at your thoughtfully prepared lesson plan and smile. You're not just teaching–you’re holding space for pole dancers.
In this immersive workshop, you will explore how to create a classroom atmosphere that fosters psychological safety, inclusivity, and connection for all movers with emphasis on supporting those most marginalized. Through a combination of lecture, fun role play activities and group discussion, you will deepen your understanding of the following:
Assessing the Energy: Utilizing intuition and practical knowledge to assess student’s needs
Music and Mood: Harnessing the power of sound to shape energy and set the tone for each class
The Art of Improvization: Adapting to the flow of the moment while fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment
Cultural Competency and Humility: Approaching each individual with respect and awareness of their lived experiences
Strength-Based Language: Choosing words that emphasize positive qualities and encourage empowerment
Teacher - Student Boundaries: Cultivating a healthy space for both teacher and student to thrive
HSPD is an opportunity to step into your fullest potential as a teacher—one who uses intuition, practical knowledge, and adaptivity to help students succeed in their goals for movement and personal growth.
