I could not draw before I spent a few hours with Olya for the introduction to drawing. It turns out I was just never taught some basic skills on how to see and to replicate what you are seeing. Then I took Nikusha's 12 week drawing course. In three months people think I've been drawing forever. They say, I can't draw like you can. Before I could only draw stick people. They are the real deal. They teach from classical principles, the foundations so you can expand wherever you want to go. They are genuine and give you important feedback to improve how you see and how to apply it. I can't wait to do more and have found my first passion.

I attended the Intro to Art on a Saturday taught by Natishka, and she did a great job teaching us how to see like a true artist, and see objects from the perspective of light, composition, and perspective in order to recreate it on paper with whatever medium we use.   It's a class that every artist beginner or experienced can use to constantly retrain the eye and brain.

Thanks, Darrow for your comments. The ability to see your subject as shapes created by the light, shadow and point of view of the creator is critical to getting your drawing to "work" and be convincing for your viewer.

And if you liked the drawing workshop you will definitely want to mark your calendar for the next Learn to Paint workshop. This all-day workshop does for painting and color what the drawing fundamentals workshop does for drawing.

Looking forward to seeing you back in the studio soon.

I participated in the pencil drawing class taught by Nitiska.. it was a fabulous class, a unique experience, and a lot of fun. I was amazed at how easily she was able to turn each of us into an artist. She taught us techniques in an experiential way, not  at all the pedantic. I had such a good time and felt very positive about my capabilities as an artist, even though I'm not particularly talented, I feel capable of expressing myself as an artist now.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. Now that you can draw, consider joining us for our Learn to Paint workshop where you will learn all you need to know to paint anything you choose in one day. Think about it, spend one Sunday and wake up the next morning ready to paint a landscape or an abstract or a still life with confidence and joy. See you in the studio.

I took the 3 class Introduction to Drawing on a Saturday afternoon. The teacher was very encouraging, nonjudgmental, and gave frequent support and demonstrations to explain a concept. There was an eclectic mix of people in the class a a variety of ages which I liked. I learned a lot and the time flew by. Looking forward to part 2.

This studio and the teachers are very uniquely special. I took the "learn to paint in one day" workshop yesterday. It blew my mind. Literally. Don't be intimidated by the idea of a 6 hour class. It felt like 5 minutes.  There's a significant discount for multiple people and it's a fun day to do with friends and family. I paid full price and it was worth every cent; in fact it's worth twice the price. Several people were actually taking the class for a second time. I will as well. Reviews are nice but experiences are what matter. Check it out for yourself :)

My 12 year old son loved the beginning drawing class. He thought it was a unique way of teaching that allows you to learn in your own way. He wants to take more classes!

That is great to hear. We enjoyed having TJ in the class. He listened and did a sophisticated drawing. We look forward to seeing TJ back in the studio soon! We have a monthly painting workshop coming up on July 29th. If TJ would like to learn how to paint, this is the workshop for him!
