I’ve taken a few classes and workshops at SoulSpace and absolutely love it there!   However, this virtual 30 day opportunity to meditate and strengthen my core thru planking has been a life-changer.  21 days in I can tell you my core is stronger and I can hold a plank for 65seconds!   Thanks Yvette and Sue for helping me do something this 58yo never thought possible.

Whether you have an established meditation practice or are a beginner, weaving journal writing into your practice can open the door to deeper self-knowledge, self-compassion and peace. Join me in a workshop setting where we will meditate, write, and set the foundation for an ongoing journaling and meditation practice. Already writing and meditating? This workshop can strengthen the connection between your journaling and meditation, bringing two powerful tools together into one beautiful practice.

Woven together, journaling + meditation:

Each participant will be given a handout with tips to start and sustain a journaling practice with meditative journaling prompts for inspiration.

Participants come to class with:

  • A journal or notebook of any kind, pen or pencil
  • One object from nature you would like to think about, write about: a rock, shell, blade of grass, leaf, flower. Something you can pick up and hold in their hand. (A photo of a natural object is ok but it should be a photo you took yourself.)
  • Participants should sit in a comfortable space for meditation and writing
  •  

Lori Novick-Carson is a certified meditation and yoga teacher (200 hours) who has been teaching English, writing and literature to college, high school and middle school students since 1992. One Mindful Outdoor Experience in September - date TBD - attendance optional

A 20 hour beginning, foundational training to become a teacher of meditation.
(incudes instruction, practice, teaching practicum, outdoor experiences, final evaluation, take-home manual, ongoing support)

You will learn to:

-deepen and solidify your personal meditation practice

-recognize various meditation techniques and traditions

-lead a group or one-on one seated meditation session

-communicate about the dynamics of meditation

-learn breathing practices to support meditation practice

-articulate the health benefits of meditation

-use Sanskrit and English mantras

-help put students at ease

-field questions and guide students

-cultivate personal presence and ease to support your teaching

-understand contraindications and how to work with special situations

All contact hours are with Soulspace Founder, Sue Bonanno who has trained with Deepak Chopra, holds certifications in Meditation & Ayurveda from the Chopra Center in California and is a Yoga Alliance experienced 500 hour registered yoga teacher. Sue is also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider.

*prerequisite is a personal daily meditation practice leading up to the training sessions and continued throughout and beyond

*3 books are recommended for reading before and during the training month. Trainees are provided with the titles upon signing up

We are here to support our trainees every step of the way to ensure your successful completion of this program. After training, continuing education will be offered. As an avid learner and self care enthusiast, she has explored and practices Energy Healing, Reiki, Chakra Balancing, Qigong, Meditation, Yoga, & vegetarian nutrition. The deeper the learning the more Rachel wants to share her knowledge with others.

Heather M. Beahan, MS, Integrated Nutrition Health Coach

Heather has a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and is an Integrated Nutrition Health Coach. She is presently completing her Integrated Nutrition Practicum in order to become Certified under the National Board of Health and Wellness. I’ve taken a few classes and workshops at SoulSpace and absolutely love it there!   However, this virtual 30 day opportunity to meditate and strengthen my core thru planking has been a life-changer.  21 days in I can tell you my core is stronger and I can hold a plank for 65seconds!   Thanks Yvette and Sue for helping me do something this 58yo never thought possible.
