This morning, my Mom and I attended our first yoga session ever. We had signed up for a private duo class so we would not be a distraction to others if had questions or needed any specific guidance. Brittany was a wonderful teacher. She was very kind and patient with us as we were learning new things. It was such a relaxing and positive way to start our day, and we will definitely be going back to Studio Yoga again in the near future!
Brittany is a registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 200, YACEP) through Yoga Alliance. She earned a B.S. in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University, and trained at Sunstone Yoga Academy. Brittany also trained in Pilates with Balanced Body. She has studied anatomy, yoga philosophy, yoga traditions, as well as acro-yoga. Brittany teaches classes in vinyasa flow style, from beginner level to advanced. Certified by miniyogis, she also teaches yoga for kids.
As an avid runner and soccer player, Brittany began yoga as a way to prevent injuries and become more flexible. After trying a variety of yoga classes, she began to view yoga not only as a form of exercise but as an outlet. Brittany strongly believes that yoga is designed for all. She encourages each individual to come as they are, use what they have, and do what they can. Yoga has taught her to challenge herself and that the benefits will quickly follow. With a background in physical therapy, Brittany teaches an alignment based class focused on combining breath and movement. She strives to teach each of her students the balance between effort and ease as well as the benefits of the asanas both physically and mentally.
