I have always loved yoga but find it more difficult to perform certain poses as aging occurs. I have taken Debbie's chair yoga classes several times and find it fits me perfectly! I am able to perform all of the poses and feel refreshed afterwards. My body does not hurt and Debbie carefully and clearly explains each pose. She is an excellent teacher and has allowed me to continue my practice without fear of damaging any muscles or feeling soreness afterwards.
Debbie Glick Phillips is all about connections. Through her
connection with her friend and mentor Suzanne McCahill Perrine, she
was introduced to yoga. Her own transformative experience, and
Suzanne’s gentle guidance, compelled her to share this gift. In
2017, she completed the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at The
Center Downtown and therein began teaching Yoga 1. She subsequently
completed a 14-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Marla Cantor of
Yoga Sparks, and added Yin Yoga to her teaching schedule. In
November 2019, she fulfilled the requirements for the 50-hour
Integrative Yoga for Seniors Professional Training at Duke
University School of Integrative Medicine, and recently began
teaching Gentle Chair Yoga. Debbie is particularly focused on
making the healing power of yoga accessible to all, regardless of
ability or experience. She strives to create a comfortable and safe
environment where people are free to explore the power of their own
connections.
Exploring and expanding new avenues of connecting, she continues to teach and take classes via The Center’s online format.
