The Center Yoga Collective

Back on Long Island, a yoga studio opened above the bagel shop where Jason worked. Students and teachers would come in to get breakfast or lunch, and their good vibe and positive conversations got him thinking about yoga. When he moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2001, Jason wanted to take better care of his body and was looking for a lifestyle change. He began taking yoga classes at the local gym, and eventually he found himself in teacher training. In 2013 Jason completed a 200-hour teacher training at Charlottesville Yoga School with Jennifer Elliott, Kate Zuckerman, and Jen Fleisher. He completed a 200-hour teacher training at The Center School of Yoga with Suzanne McCahill Perrine in 2017. Jason has been teaching Yin yoga, Slow flow, Hatha flow, and Vinyasa for about 6 years. His students enjoy his gentle humor, his positive encouragement, and his sense of fun and play. While he is happy to challenge his students in their practice, he reminds them that the stakes are low; there is no such thing as goal-achieving or failure in the practice--only breath, alignment, and focus on the present moment. Jason is married and has three busy children. When he’s not teaching yoga, he is a full-time woodworker. He enjoys playing bass guitar in a band, but on occasion his acoustic guitar accompanies him to yoga class.
