My interest in yoga has always been more than physical. For me
it was the way toward a spiritual life. Working with only
the Sivananda Companion to Yoga book while in
college, I loved how the postures made me feel –warm, light,
supple, strong, and light-hearted. I experienced clarity of mind,
relief from depression, and a glimpse of a deeper existence through
the practice of yoga postures. When I read the Yoga Sutras
of Patanjali and discovered that yogasanas (postures)
were actually meant to take you to your spiritual core, I knew this
was a path I would never leave.
